Leanne Carnaghan, M.Sc.(OT) 

Leanne Carnaghan

Leanne Carnaghan is a Registered Occupational Therapist in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario and a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists (OSOT).  She has over 12 years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist with clients of various ages and diagnoses in a variety of settings including private clinics, home and community as well as hospital programs.  She has experience working with children with a variety of diagnostic conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Developmental Coordination Disorder, Fine Motor Delays, Learning Disorders, Apraxia and Sensory Processing Disorder.  

Leanne enjoys sharing her knowledge in the field and is a part-time professor at Durham College in the OTA/PTA Program.  She has served as a clinical leader at the Durham College Kids’ Clinic for the past four years.  Leanne graduated with distinction in 2008 with a Master of Science degree in Occupational Therapy & Occupational Science from the University of Toronto.  She was awarded the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy (CAOT) award as well as the Hospital for Sick Children Prize in Pediatrics.  She has also completed an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences degree with a minor in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario.  Leanne has completed various workshops throughout her career including various courses in school health and The Handwriting without Tears approach for printing intervention.  

Outside of work, Leanne enjoys spending time with her husband and three children at their family cottage, playing with their Goldendoodle, Teddy, and riding her spin bike.

Services

Occupational Therapy Services offers in-clinic services to children in Port Perry and surrounding areas.  

We are passionate about working with children to help them reach their goals.  We believe that every child can reach their full potential when provided with the right tools and environment to participate in activities that are meaningful to them. Occupational Therapy Services offers assessment and treatment implementation in the following areas:

Prices 

Occupational Therapy is not covered by OHIP but you may have coverage through your private insurance plan.  A medical prescription is not necessary for service; however, some extended health benefits and insurance companies may require a Physician’s referral for services to be covered.  You may also be able to use Ontario Autism Provider (OAP) funding for Occupational Therapy Services.
